Support Kauai Wrestling

From Mac Piggot on Kauai:

The Kauai Interscholastic Federation Executive Board has agreed to offer wrestling as a regular sport for the school year 2012-2013, provided the community achieve certain fundraising goals!

Over the last 2 decades there has been progress and setbacks. In 2008 there was a plan in place for an exhibition season however complications and budget cut backs caused the Board to rescind the plan. Despite efforts by dedicated community leaders Mark Ozaki and Scott Kaui of the Kauai Police Activities League, Ray F. “Coach Mac” Pigott of the Westside Wrestling Club, as well as many others, Scholastic wrestling has not been sanctioned on Kauai

Earlier this year Representative Derek Kawakami adopted the vision quest and went to work for the sake of Kauai’s student athletes to have the opportunity to participate in high school wrestling. Representative Kawakami has brokered a deal combining government funding and community fundraising to provide the necessary budget for KIF Wrestling! Time is running out and fundraising is short of the goal. The community has 3 more weeks to raise an additional $8000.00

Please help establish scholastic wrestling on Kauai!

Y0u can donate through a PayPal link on this web page, or mail checks payable to: Waimea Baptist Westside Wrestling (501) For: “KIF Wrestling” on the check.
