Note:  Team Hawaii 2013 Official Chaperons lovingly endured scenes like THIS. . . for two weeks!

Behind the scenes of the successful Team Hawaii 2013 Fargo trip were a group of reliable, dedicated, and by this time, exhausted Team Hawaii Chaperons.

Made up of a group of Team Hawaii parents , the official Chaperons for the Team provided a critical support system allowing our Wrestlers to wrestle, our Coaches to coach, and our parents back home in Hawaii to know their wrestlers were well cared for.

“We organized the Fargo trip to maximize the talents and contributions of our volunteers,” said Hawaii Federation of USA Wrestling President, Ryan Sugihara.  “We tried to free up our Coaches to concentrate on the wrestling and all the responsibilities that go with preparing for and coaching at a  national tournament.   To do that, we needed other adults to step up and help out.  What we ended up with was an incredible squad of parents and friends of Hawaii Wrestling who committed to helping our Team, the kids and the Coaching Staff.”

Parents (in alphabetical order) Lawrence Aguigui,  Kevin Takaesu, Kevin Yamasaki, and Alan Yoshikawa acted as Official Team Hawaii 2013 Chaperons, along with Team Hawaii 2013 Coaches.  They traveled with the team, lived  in the Team dormitory accommodations, and helped supervise the Team off the mat.

All of the official Chaperons  traveled at their own expense, and registered as USA Wrestling Coaches to ensure adherence to USA Wrestling principals and regulations.

A very grateful HFUSAW says a big MAHALO to them all!
