I am curious to know if they are any predictions both male and female from outer Islands (off Oahu) to be state placers, finals placers and possible title holders?
From what I read on here, it's 99% OIA and ILH? Any outer Island possibilities?
Congratulations to all of the eastern OIA winners this weekend. We'll see who they go up against next week as the west wrestlers go at it.
I don't see any way the neighbor island wrestlers can win against the OIA. It should be a great night at states as the OIA returns to prominence and dominates all weight classes.
I was asked if there was an OIA team that was put together like PAC-5. I had to laugh as I said in the OIA we fight our own battles. The ILH needs to put wrestlers from other schools together because they are too scared to fight on their own.

Can think of only one "Uyeda" he will win it all.
That's good to know that the outer Islands are doubted… If those wreslters read this, I'm sure it will add motivation. But, you are correct, states night will be an exciting one! I think the Big Island has a few kids to watch out for! I did catch some of their BIIF footage, and there is a couple of kids that I am pretty sure will be at least placers. Maybe even a female finalist once again, and one or two male finalists. As for MIL yes, I am pretty sure Uyeda will be right there as usual!

Let's see, Blake Cooper beats that overrated scrub from Punahou Peralta at officials, Peralta being a scrub who lost to an underclassman beats Uyeda the scrub from Maui. What that means is that Uyeda is a double scrub who's gonna lose BIG at states.
Offline@808crx I'm curious to know who the few kids from the big island besides Souza and Aoki to "watch out for"? I don't see anyone else from the big island that could make the finals or place. Uyeda will probaly be at 152 for states and since both cooper and Rivera dropped down he will probaly make the finals.
From the BIIF, Aoki, Souza, and Paleka-Kennedy to "watch out for." Raymond, Arellano, Quiocho, Franco, Enos, and Auweloa as possible placers. On the girls' side Aina, Louis, and Iuta to "watch out for." Paleka-Kennedy and Aina are former state champs and Aoki, Souza, Quiocho, Enos, and Louis are state placers.
OfflineYeah you're right guys like Raymond and Quiocho could possibly take 6th in state at best
A number of the BIIF winners could place…depends a lot on the draw…and who "believes in themselves" that they can place…though not many are serious contenders for crowns. Quiocho was 4 last season, placed at Officials this year, and should be able to place at states. Serious contenders…though not necessarily winners…are probably Souza, Paleka-Kennedy, Aina, and Louis. Go BIIF!
What about the 125 who wrestled for Waiakea at Officials? Jacob Blanco. Was he just visiting from the mainland or something?
Blanco didn't wrestle in the BIIF championships. Waiakea was missing a number of potential BIIF champions/medalists…too bad, would have been fun to see all of these kids wrestle. Not sure why Blanco and the others were missing.
Guess by this time, injuries have taken a toll. Others are bitten by the grades bug. Wrestling is such a tough sport that we got to give all kids that stick it out their due.

Enos 152
What do you mean Enos 152? You expect him to make states, place, win the Zippys Vegas trip or win it all?

I expect him to go all the way. With the crossfit training he's doing combined with the hard nosed wretling practices the other 152's don't stand a chance. Proper conditioning like that being done at cross fit enables wrestlers to achieve maximum results. It's unfortunate that so many wrestling coaches and their wrestlers live in the dark ages of fitness. All they do is to perpetuate the incorrect habits of days past.
Enos by pin all the way!
