Congratulations to Hi-Flyers Coach Jake Clark for beating the 2008 Olympic Champion from Italy on his way to winning the Silver Medal at the Dave Schultz International Tournament at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado this weekend!
http://www.themat.com/section……leID=24652
Not to mention two of their other coaches recently took home 2 Gold & 2 Silver Medals at the Oceania Championships in Sydney, Australia last month! Lia Berger-Mata'afa (Lahainaluna Grad) represented American Samoa and Keitani Graham representing the Federated States of Micronesia (a Punahou Grad that played basketball in high school).
Hey didnt some of you people say something about Jake not being able to win big matches or something on here? It really has to get under your skin that you have to eat your words after his performance this past weekend doesnt it? He was even mentioned as a representative as Hawaii and we even got recognized as to where he is training. This may bring more wrestlers like him here I think this is great!!!

From one "guest" to another – do you think posts like your's help or hurt Jake's cause?
IMHO, after reading all the silly stuff being written on this site (from both sides), Jake, his supporters and detractors should take a step back, stop yapping and let actions do the talking. If his heart is truly in it, then things will work out. And he'll STILL have his detractors. That's just life.
Personally, i hope he's here for the right reasons. Wrestling numbers are down (even Punahou can't seem to field a full squad) and if he''s truly committed to helping our kids then more power to him. Too many people with LOTS of opinions who sit back, grumble and do a whole lotta nothing.

At least Lia & Keitani didn't have to move to Australia to train. Good job.
Coach Cjealous (The C is obviously silent),
I know this news is tough for you to take, just as watching this recent interview with Jake will be:

3rd Guest down from the top,
Jake understands that certain people, in certain positions, are going to do what they can (like posting nonsense on this board) to try and smear his name or image. Sadly, some people might come on this board and believe the nonsense being said, without taking the few minutes to check on whether or not what they're reading is true. That's where I come in.
I met with Jake yesterday and his offer to meet with anyone interested in talking about wrestling still stands. There's also an addition to it. He will drive to any Starbucks or Jamba Juice and treat you to your first beverage at either place in exchange for your questions and conversation. His email hasn't changed: jake84kg@yahoo.com Looks like these meetings haven't been affecting his training as you once thought, Coach Cjealous.

Dude, he just qualified, that's what you're supposed to do if you want to compete in April. Right now I'm cheering for guys like Andre Metzger, Kurt Angle and Rulon Gardner in their come backs. All I was trying to point out in my youtube clip is not to not put so much value in Andrea Menguzzi's 'gold medal' if anyone recalls the match. Jake obviously knows that the Sierackis and his ole buddy Chas Betts, who beat Jake for 1st, are in the way. Stay tuned in for April. . . .
Just another fact:
All past World and Olympic Team members are automatic qualifiers to the World and Olympic Team Trials. FOREVER.
Jake is a 2x World Team Member, so that means he is an automatic qualifier for the World and Olympic Trials. FOREVER.
I'm rooting for Metzger, Angle, and Rulon as well! There is hope for us seeing eye to eye after all! LOL
Metzger is hanging in there, but not sure he will be able to win matches against any of the top guys.
Angle hasn't been to any training camps, and it seems he's just getting his name out there for some reason. Maybe he's about to come out with a book or something and this was a chance to build some media attention?
Rulon is still extremely overweight, as I could see from the video of his matches at the Kiki Cup 2 weeks ago. Jake mentioned that other wrestlers were talking and guessing that Rulon is weighing 330+ lbs, and might not be able to get his weight down in time.
All 3 of these guys bring attention to our sport, and whether or not they make the 2012 team, I appreciate their help in getting wrestling in the spotlight! With Cael and Cejudo competing that would put 5 Olympic Champions in this upcoming Trials! How cool is that?
As for Minguzzi, an Olympic Gold is an Olympic Gold. No ifs, ands, or buts (unless it gets taken away for doping reasons). Minguzzi IS an Olympic Champ, and Jake beat him while training in Hawai'i!
Mr facts this is such a drawn out and boring topic, everyone is over it already… Jake's 15 minutes of fame are over, every thing that everyone wanted or could say has been said and its honestly time for Jake to just let his actions do the talking… and Mr facts if your Jake Clark you need to stop hiding behind this alias and just be real with what you wanna say, if your not Jake Clark you really need to live your own life and get of his dick
You can beat a former Olympic Gold Medalist but truly it only counts in the Olympics; when it matters the most.
Jake's training is going great in Hawaii and he would like to thank the Kamehameha Schools Bishop Estate Trustees for sponsoring his personal dream. Seeing that he still wrestle's for Minnesota Storm would lead me to believe that he is from Minnesota and not Hawaii.
He is more of a guy from Minnesota training in Hawaii
Why is jake not coaching Kamehameha anymore? He really improved the team. The team looks worst since he stopped helping.
Kamehameha needs all the help they can get. Clark has the best credential in the state and I hope the HC is taking nots from Clark.
Don't think those guys have one LOL
that's the joke amongst ILH coaches….

I still say ‘good job’ however lets really take a look at the Oceania Region, not very stout at all. A few years ago, American Samoa received a wrestling mat and it just had a roof over it, not to mention that their government had to pay a pretty penny to have it shipped from France to Tahiti before arriving in American Samoa. Last I recall, most of their athletes have to go to Australia to train for a majority of the Olympic sports. After looking at these results, well, I’m almost tempted to contact the Palauan government to see if I can represent them;

I’m afraid that by looking into my eyes Mr. Facts, that you might catch a woody!

Our state has always proved to be great training grounds but only to specific sports. I’ve known a handful of Judokas in the past who’ve placed nationally and knocked off champions like Jake has done however they’ve either left for San Jose State University or Cumberland College if the OTC was not an option.
Jake's training is going great in Hawaii and he would like to thank the Kamehameha Schools Bishop Estate Trustees for sponsoring his personal dream.
Is this actually true??? I’d like to know where in Bernice Pauahi Bishop’s Will this was actually written?! Must be a lot easier to sponsor a non-Hawaiian than it is to admit a child of Native Hawaiian blood living outside of HI!.

Could it be the attitude of their wrestlers? I’m no longer in the ILH but I do personally know that Pablo Venenciano is an excellent coach in both the technical and motivational aspects. In any case, if they aren’t performing like how they had accomplished last season, then I can’t wait to knock off a few of their Warriors come states!
