Can you people explain the ILH advantage to me?

ILH and OIA have mats to practice on… last I checked a better mat doesn't make a better wrestler.

They both are required to wear head gear… I don't think a head gear makes a better wrestler.

They both wear shoes… $15 shoes wrestle just as good as $200 shoes.

ILH and OIA schools have weights rooms… Unless there are special weights that make you stronger, they still need to be picked and used the same way in the ILH and OIA. I know that PAC-5 doesn't have access to a weight room during practice.

I know some OIA schools have fancy singlets but I don't think they help you wrestle better even if they make you look like you are good.

Maybe they have special clocks that turn a 2hr practice into a 4hr practice… I know the ILH season has a later start date then OIA. In fact Iolani is strict about their 2hr practice rule and the wrestling room closes promptly at the conclusion of practice.

Last I checked wrestling is a sport where hard work and dedication is the corner stone to success on the mat. One of the oldest, hardest and most competitive sports in the world, a noble sport of kings and champions… and all you guys want to do is spit on it and drag it down with all your griping and bickering.

Why not help out your neighbor and elevate the sport for the 808. Good competition drives the sport to higher levels and bad mouthing drags the sport down.

If you don't like what someone is doing/saying talk to them instead of hiding behind your alias and stabbing people in the back. If we all don't start helping each other we all going be like the a'ama crabs stuck in the bucket… as soon as one reaches the top the other all waiting to pull him back down….

Now I know why Iolani sucks. Punahou should end the practices they get early because even with the extra time they still suck.

I think the past 20-years is what OMJ is asking about;

1992 Iolani ILH   2002 Saint Louis ILH
1993 Iolani ILH   2003 Iolani ILH
1994 Iolani ILH   2004 Kahuku OIA
1995 Leilehua OIA   2005 KSK ILH
1996 Iolani ILH   2006 Kahuku OIA
1997 KSK ILH   2007 Punahou ILH
1998 KSK ILH   2008 Punahou ILH
1999 KSK ILH   2009 Punahou ILH
2000 Iolani ILH   2010 Punahou ILH
2001 Saint Louis ILH   2011 Punahou ILH

Reality – it is what it is. Aurite? Chee.

OIA Rules: You actually seem to make up in loyalty what you lack in grammaticall skillitude and reality management. I'm a fan of wrestling; OIA, ILH, MIL, BIF, PAL, whatever; so i'd be more than happy if a worthy OIA school (like the Kahuku teams of old) took States. Heck, I've been cheering for years for Lahainaluna to finally put it together in March.

But, Punahou sucks? See chart above. They might not have too many fans outside of Ka Punahou, but they definitely do not suck. Iolani sucks? They may have struggled with number for the past 5+ years, but they still consistently place in the top 10. And I'd keep an eye on the ILH intermediate championships this weekend for a sign of things to come.

But, whatever. Keep us posted on OIA results and your predictions. Forum boards needs it's trolls. Keeps it fun.

1. Kamehameha

The hilarious thing is that OIA Rules was trying to put "Da real list for the state" in alphabetical order.

Respectfully, The Wealthiest Private School in the United States is Kamehameha.

  • Three Campus on Three Islands
  • Nearly $8 Billion in Endowment
  • Owns several shopping malls
  • Owns several resort locations
  • Founded by Princess Bernice Pauahi Bishop

Now it's easy to surmise that even with the huge resources that Kamehameha commands, money alone can't buy a championship. I believe the endowment for Punahou is in the 170 to 200 million dollar range. It's dwarfed by that of Kamehameha. It's not how much you have, but what you spend it on.

I was told that Carbahol of Lahainaluna is moving up to 125 for states, and that Uyeda is going back down to 152

for states.

I can see Carbahol moving to 125. It'll put him out of Terao and Oshiros way. Unfortunately he'll have to contend with Fukushima, Tawata and Kamaka.

It doesn't make much sense for Uyeda to go back to 152. Peralta has showed he can control him quite convincingly and is a far more physical and capable wrestler than Akamine was. I see him having a better opportunity against Remmilard at 160. Another puzzling drop was from Hoshino of Kamehameha. He got beaten badly by Peralta and he looks really thin. If you're gonna lose you may as well do it on a full stomach.

It's funny reading about the ILH boys. It's not gonna make a difference where Oshiro, Terao, Murakawa, Carbahol, Kuahine, Hernandez, Fukushima, Uyeda, Peralta or Remmilard winds up. Lets get it straight, none of these losers will win at states. It's gonna be the OIA all the way. Mililani, Pearl City and campbell will dominate and win multiple individual state titles. I predict Campbell will win the team title.

These ILH boys have absolutely no dedication to the sport. They're to busy playing with their computers. They could take a clue of how to be successful from the OIA. A classic example of this was when the Campbell Sabers football team rolled over Punahou on their home field back in October. We're gonna see a repeat of this at states.

It's gonna be fun watching the scrubs at Punahou get what they deserve. 7th place behind the IMUAS who I predict will be in 6th place. I'll be sure to take pictures of the Punahou and the IMUA wrestlers crying when they lose!
