You must be smelling to much vog today. You must feel really good insulting a terrific freshman in Issac Diamond. You're biased view towards Issac in believing Oshiro will win is really low. Let them get it on and then we'll see who the man is. As a freshmen Oshiro was nothing. To compare him to freshman Diamond is laughable.

diamond is way better than oshiro was as freshmen. diamond has been training really hard this year and have the best coaches in the state. oshiro is really not a good wrestler, just because he jumps all over the place doesn't make him a good wrestler. oshiro's technique is really bad compared to diamond's. diamond's technique is off the chart and he has the best wrestling skills in the whole state. you folks will see his phenomenal wrestling skills, come state, when diamond destroys oshiro in the finals.Yell

I agree that Diamond is a far better wrestler than Oshiro. Jumping all over the place is a sign of weakness that Diamond will exploit. Oshiro is just to small to compete. Diamond will take out whomever gets in his way. Oshiros BIG mistake was when he put on the running shoes and went down to a freshman weight class. He just can't compete with the big boys. It's gonna be tragic when this kid wrestles in college against true 125 pounders who cut from 140.

According to the Maui News it looks like Uyeda is back to 152. He came in 3rd in the weekends tournament.

125 lb weight class get ready your nightmare is back… Terao will be at 125 for ILH.
With all the talent running away from him he decided to move up to chase after them.

Tawata was given 125 for the season. Now the wrestlers are moving back to their original positions. It also may have to do with Tawata injuring himself at St. Louis duals.

I heard it was due to a coach's screw up and Terao can not go 120 anymore.  Tawata was injured but will either bump up or stay at 125. Maybe Holden can put his shoes back on and run to another weight class..

Oshiro may move back to 120, but I don't think so since he has something to prove against Diamond due to all the negative posts here…. I guess you will all find out after tomorrow when the seeding meeting is done.

If Terao went to 114 then he would not be able to go back to 125. I lowest he went to was 120 so he is indeed eligible for a return to 125.

Not according to HHSAA…

If he had weighed in at 114 he could go up to 125, as long as he weighs in higher than 114 or rather 116 and lower than 127 when he weighs in for 127. But that's beside the point.

The main point is the top 4 wrestlers from the ILH go to states if there are 5 contenders who will risk sitting in the stands at States?

Tawata didn't get injured at STL duals and if he did, why would that be justification for Terao to move up?

But since you got the "Insider" scoops you already knew that….

Terao is running to 125 because he's making room for his buddy Oshiro at 120. I knew Oshiro was scarred of Diamond, I just knew it. Diamond is gonna win 114, now Oshiro and everyone else knows it.

And who cares if Uyeda is back to 152. He came in 3rd this weekend. Uyeda and Peralta are jokes.

Personally id rather see cassidy wrestle bigger and more accomplished wrestlers at 120 than stay down at 114 to chase after Diamond, a freshman. Id also like to see Terao at 125, the toughest weightclass in the state this year.

I think Oshiro gets a kick out of staying at 114 to destroy Diamond just for OIA Rules… Well on second thought I think he is much more mature than OIA Rules to stay for that reason.

Keep dreaming… Diamond can run to 120 since Terao scared everyone away.

OIA Rules, you crack me up.  You speak as if everyone in the BIIF/ILH/MIL is inferior compared to the OIA.  Just because a wrestler is in a certain league doesn't mean they're unbeatable.  How you wrestle in a match determines how good you actually are.

OldManJenkins brought up an interesting topic for the upcoming weekend.  In the ILH there are 5 well rounded wrestlers at the 125 pound weight class.  Bryant Fukushima (Punahou), Holden Takahashi (Iolani), Kai Kamaka (Kamehameha), Josh Terao (Pac-5) and Tomas Tawata (Pac-5) are all in the same weight class, however only 4 get to make it to states.  In the BIIF there's Sky Souza (Kamehameha-Hawaii) who was runner up to Ryan Nakagawa last season.  With 4 runner-ups and a state champ, this weight is definitely worth looking at.

ILH Wrestlers that are potentially State Champs / Placers: 114- (Cassidy Oshiro,Logan Yamamoto), 120- (Sky Yonamine), 125- (Josh Terao, Bryant Fukushima, Thomas Tawata, Kai Kamaka, Holden Takahashi), 130- (Todd Murakawa), 135- (Keamalu Richardson), 140- (Evan Uehara, Sean Chan), 145- (Tyson Kuahine), 152- (Bryan Peralta, Jonah Hoshino), 160-( LJ Remulliard, Spencer Kiehm), 171- (Ikea Ikehara), 189- (Zack Hernandez), 215- (Paihi Pestano, Kory Johnson), 285- (Hayden Wills, Tyman Hayashi).

Austin Bloch (King Kekaulike) has taken first at officials in the 140 pound weight class.  Anyone have updates on how he's doing so far?

Can Pac-5 have more than 1 wrestler per weight class?  I know they enter as their own school at states.  How many schools compete as Pac-5.

I think I know

As long as the wrestlers are from different schools Pac5 can enter as many as they want per weight class, however, they will have to place in the top 4 in the ILH to go to States.

We have OIA Rules to thank for motivating Oshiro to staying down at 114.  But Diamond will have to get through Yamamoto the ILH #2 seed first and I don't see that as being likely.  Too bad because the way I see it, Oshiro will not be challenging himself.  Better match up at 114 would have been Diamond vs. Yamamoto.

I also believe Oshiro would have dominated at 120 with his main competition being Aoki or Carbajal.  Lucky for them, if Oshiro stays at 114, I they will both be in the finals.

I think Tawata will bump up to 130 that would put Fukushima and Holden on the same side of the ILH bracket.  125 will be one of the toughest weight classes in the States with a guaranteed returning runner up or State Champion being unseeded.  The ILH 3rd placer will be drawn in meaning the first match in the States could be a killer.  Like "Upcoming" pointed out, "4 runner-ups and a state champ" and a few more very improved wrestlers.
